NASA / Honeywell

The International Space Station (ISSA) is one of the longest and most ambitious space projects since NASA's moon mission. Comprised of several large sections being built by Japan, the European Space Agency, Russia and the US it has a multi-year build up schedule. The US portion of ISSA is being managed by NASA and built by a number of sub-contractors. Among them Honeywell, Boeing and Lockheed.

One of the biggest hurdles faced by ISSA sub-contractors was the lack of space grade hardware along with QA, materials planning and documentation management systems that followed the strict guidelines imposed by NASA in the production of space grade hardware.

International Space Station Custom ERP System

SSG personnel created a custom Materials and Resource Planning system that interfaced with engineering data stored in a mainframe system and made this data accessible via SQL Server databases. Along with the necessary back-end integration, data management / transfers etc. the project entailed a complex client application that handled production planning, inventory management and assembly build-ups across 5 manufacturing sites in the US and Canada.
